Melvin's on the Lake ~ April 23 [6]

Green Lake, Spicer, Minnesota

A nice Sunday afternoon in late April. Most diners have chosen to dine al fresco as it's that rare time of year when it's neither too hot or too cold, and another cold front is on the way. Tomorrow promises rain and significantly colder temperatures. Today however is a perfect Sunday afternoon as the children play in the sand, promises of summer yet to come.

In addition to dining inside or outside Melvin's also offers boat rentals. You can rent a boat, grab a little take-out and a bottle of wine and enjoy lunch or dinner on the lake.

This is also my favorite restaurant in the local area. Unfortunately it will probably be torn down this summer to make way for a condominium development.

This is an excellent shot under difficult lighting conditions. I like the way the curtains are backlit. Well done! vote

If I had 1 wish in life... (that might be an exaggerantion) it would be to live in a climate and location where every meal was taken outside.
Im with Chris. Can we send $2 each and maybe buy a cement block for a consortium?

What a great shot.
You'll have to get a co-operative together and buy it...! Chris

Neat prespective . To bad that so many neat and unique places are being torn down to make room for the condo, ect. Very sad.

Wonderful scene of the diners outside. I like the way you chose to shoot this through the windows which make a nice frame. I can't believe they're tearing it down!

Wonderful spring image, too bad lakeshore property is getting so expensive, business owners almost have no choice but to sell. I think we are seeing a way of life disappearing from our lakes.

It is sad.
So many wonderful scenes like this are being transformed into concrete fortresses.
Who are buying all of these condos, anyway?
