A photo of the women's section inside the Ummayad Mosque during prayer.
The mosque, especially the segregation of it, was to say the least interesting.
There is a divider going the length of the mosque, seperating the men's section
from the women's, with the divider allowing everyone to view the shrine of
John the Baptist.
The interesting part being that non-muslim women were allowed in the men's
section, albeit covered in grey robes, even during the time of prayer,
clicking away with cameras...something not often seen in most mosques,
especially one of this caliber and importance.
Taken in the Umayyad Mosque, Damascus, Syria.
