Christmas

Just before dawn Christmas morning. One degree but no wind. We have seen wind chills down to -30 degrees and still been comfortable inside. The thick cob walls are very sheltering and the house is very tight. Our wish list for the future includes a more efficient wood stove, more insulation around the foundation, and ground that isn't covered with ice! Getting to the house has been a tricky trek, but we should have some thawing in the next few days. Merry Christmas.

You can make your wood stove more efficient in simple ways most of your heat is going up the chimney, email me if interested. Like your house.

Congratulations! It looks lovely, and cozy. Perhaps we will cruise on down one day to see it up close and personal.
Thanks for sharing your pictures and progress. All my best to you and your family. Tell Lin I said hello.

Congrats on your fabulous house. Looks right cozy. I agree - a house should always be designed around the heating system and not the other way around. Hope you have gotten an American-built efficient wood burning stove by now.
