Our yard

Near the end of our record snowfall. Just added the enlarged "ghost" of the Coopers Hawk to show where it usually perches, minus the sparrows of course. The two snow-covered bushes are where the sparrows often hide and where the Hawk has been trying to catch them.

A great setup for birds.

At first I thought those were crazy sparrows until I saw the hawk was photoshopped in. Nice work and hope your record snow doesn't last too long.

No wonder the hawk likes your yard. You've got quite the buffet put out for the birds.

funny to see those sparrow around, great capture!

Thanks for showing us your 'hawk spot'. Now I know why you stay warm at home instead of standing in the freezing temps.
Sam Rua20-Feb-2016 15:29
Very creative. Do the Coopers migrate to warmer climes?
Tom Munson20-Feb-2016 15:28
I can't believe those small birds are sitting beside the hawk.
Tom Munson20-Feb-2016 15:27
Nice work, Hank. Winter has arrived in your area.

Prachtig Hank, de mussen durven wel om zo dichtbij te gaan zitten.

Excellent capture of your winter visitor keeping watch over your feeders. V

It look very cold and the bird feeders are of course also attractive to the birds of prey! V

LOL I still need Coopers for the year! I least I know exactly where to look this time. Thanks for pinpointing it's position ;-)

Nice capture through your window. Better than to be outside.v.

What a view. I suspect it is waiting for the small birds come to the feeders.

Very nice Winter view of the yard! You seem to have a 'permanent' visitor
