Six images of the Owlets with Big Sister initially perched precariously close to and over the edge of the nest, then on a top branch and finally back in the nest to make room for Mom.
Top image: Big Sister leaning over the edge and looking down at us. Note: one of its feet/claws resting on a small stuby broken off branch.
Oops, looks like she slipped, then flapped her wings for balance to keep from falling. Note, the white feather, probably a left over from last nights dinner, likely a Gull.
Big Sister on a top branch and Little Brother both looking towards Mom perched higher in a nearby tree.
Little Brother appears to want to join his sister on the branch, but ...............
...... since there is no room on the branch, Big sister tells Little Brother to take a hike and she proceeds to do some wing exercises, whilst Little Brother indignantly looks up towards Mom for help.
Big Sister quickly returns to the nest when Mom flies in. Mom perches on the vacated branch. All three are now looking down towards the audience below; that is, photographers, hikers, parents with children etc..
Note: the Owls nest is located in a broken off tree about 20 meters high adjacent to a well used trail in a very popular local park within the city; hence, the Owls have become quite used to people walking by or stopping to look up at them or to photograph them.
