Three images of Common Goldeneyes. Note: in the second image the colours of the male Goldeneye are brownish with less white on the side. I am not sure whether this can be attributed to it being either leucistic or melanistic. Any comments regarding this would be appreciated.
(P.S. Thanks to Ted for clearing up the difference. The brownish male in the second image is a young, probably 1st season young male.)
Top Image: Single male Common Goldeney. Note, the white sides and the black back and head.
A pair of Common Goldeneyes, male near, female in background. Note, the brown head, blackish back and browns with less white on the sides of the male compared to the males in images 1 & 3. ??? (P.S. According to Ted, the brownish male is a juvenile male.)
A pair of normal Common Goldeneyes.
