20100412 513 Cooper's Hawk SERIES.jpg

Mud Lake, Ottawa

Four Images.

Whilst the female Cooper's Hawk was taking a bath, a female Mallard approached her seemingly unconcerned and unafraid.

In the top image, the Hawk seems to look up in surprise. How dare a duck approach her.

The Hawk seems to look to us in wonder, almost as if asking, "Now what do I do?"

Unconcerned, the Duck keeps on coming.

With an astonished look, the Hawks backs up out of the water. The duck then simply swims away.
