Two Images of a Cooper's Hawk. Two of us were out shooting some Buffleheads and Scaup that were swimming in the open waters near a creek outlet into the Ottawa River. They were considerable distance from shore; hence, after taking a few quick shots we decided to try our luck elsewhere. Whilst walking back to our cars my friend spotted this Hawk sitting on a large rock, not more than 30 feet from us. It just sat there looking, alternately at us and at some Mallards swimming nearby. It finally decided to fly off when some Crows appeared on the scene.
