The male and young female Cooper's are still defending their nest area against crows. It seems that usually it is the male that fights off the crows who sometimes come quite close. The pair have been seen to mate on several occasions over the past few days. In one instance, the the female was having lunch (a Robin) as the male mounted her.
In the above image, the female is having a leisurely drink after just having taken a bath in shallow water. They are not yet sitting on the nest, so perhaps no eggs yet?
