THIS ONE'S FOR YOU SUE. Sue, like quite a few others missed the head added on to the headless, (long-legged), N.H. Owl that I posted two days ago . Then yesterday, Sue wondered how the Owl could perch on such a tiny branch. Today's two images show how they do it. I'm just glad it's not my pinkie that it is grabbing on to. Image # 1 (above): The Owl in a very familiar perch clutching the top of a small branch located at the top of a smallish tree. Good thing they are light, probably 300 grams max.
Second Image: A Close-up of # 1 showing its talons clutching the branch. Note, the top of the branch is hidden in the Owl's plumage.
