Silver plated "Little Creedmoor" parlor rifle by Wm. Wurfflein of Philadelphia, Not sure of the caliber. Could be 4MM. (See new photos of the internal parts!) Never seen another rifle from the USA like it. Wurfflein was working in Philadelphia and had an 1876 broadside showing this style of parlor rifle. He exhibited the gun at the International Exposition.
I have a W Wurfflein .22 cal marked usmc with number on the left side of action/barrel. I would like to know if any one could tell me the vaule of this firearm? It appears that it is a very rare fireaarm, is this a true fact ? It also appears that it was used for traing by the army ect, gun is in great working order and is about 95 % cond. Any history would be nice thank you.

I have a Wurfflein rifle which must be later. It has a brass recieverwith central box lock action and double set triggers. The actual barrel is a 28 caliber with lands the shape of inverted "V's" Where normally the 4 mm cap would be placed on a zimmerstutzen, there is a percussion nipple for a no 11 cap. I saw one like yours recently on Gun broker. Oddly, Wurfflein was really noted for break open target rifles and I have never come across one.
In Germany and Austria, there are still clubs that shoot the parlor guns, Zimmerstutzens.

Wow, It is kind of close to mine. Mine is lever operated, which cocks the 14" firing pin located inside the barrel. Muzzle to breach plug(missing) contains an 8" removable rifle ten groove 4mm barrel. Rifle is very Bavarian with silver inlay and engraved. Shutzen stock with large steel buttplate, dropped low with high rollover cheekpiece. Built by Miller&Viel Greiss in Munchen for Carl & Oscar Beck of Nordlingen Germany. A recent trip to Germany, I found out the ammo is a centerfir
4mm-M-20 by RWS. A rifle builder there informed me the value there could be between 1500 to 2,500 if it was working. This rifle has Swiss diopter sites and the metalwork engrave with silver fillings.
