J.B. Wood's Picket Rifle

Joshua B. Wood Picket Rifle #105. The rifle is in 41 caliber, barrel measures 28 7/8" and is 1 3/8" across the flats. The rifle weighs 15 1/2 lbs. and has a very nice single set trigger. Joshua B. Wood was a gunsmith in Norwich, N.Y. from 1863 to 1867. He produced standard percussion rifles as well as over-under rifle and shotgun combinations. His claim to fame was his patent # 44,057 for telescopic rifle sights improvement, dated August 30, 1864.
