I love train rides too Bing, one of the most pleasant ways to travel.
Thanks for the positive feedback on the Ewa train ride.
We are looking forward to it, not only for the ride but the anticipated great
camaraderie and talk-story opportunities.

Hey Brenda, I didn't say I wasn't a big fan of Mr Newton.
Just meant I was a small one... tiny... minuscle even.
However, stature aside, I did say I would definitely be interested in touring
the estate... just out of curiosity of course.
Thanks for the input you and Robert have provided.

Aloha,
Hal

For our Bulldog golfers:

Please let me know by April 15, 2017, if you can join us for golf, on Friday,
October 13, and Monday, October 16, 2017 (banquet is on October 15).

We got an offer form a Las Vegas golf company, who manages several golf
courses, to schedule us for two days of golf as follows:

Friday, October 13, 2017 – Black Mountain at 10:00 a.m.
Monday, October 16, 2017 – Wild Horse at 9:30 a.m. (we played there in 2015)

Cost is tentatively set at $65 green fees for each course and club rental at $30
(for those that don’t want to lug their clubs).
Should we have sufficient number of interested players (eight minimum), I will
finalize the two golf days of golf and the fees with the company.
Again, please contact me by April 15 so I can complete arrangements.

Hank and I love the old railroads in the United States.
We have ridden the train in Ewa several times.
It is well worth the time and money.
Have fun.

This year we plan to ride the train on Kauai with my nephew Chip and family.

Next year we plan to ride the train on Maui called the Lahaina Kaahapali and
Pacific Railroad.
They are scheduled to reopen this year.

See you at the 75th reunion.

Hi, Hal, et. al.,

Pearl and I are discussing a possible activity for October.
Robert and I, my daughter and 16 year granddaughter just visited Wayne
Newton's Casa De Shenandoah, his estate, complete with Arabian horses,
exotic animals, and a tour of his residence, private plane and museum.
I will be forwarding more information to Pearl, with group contact info.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour!
Less opulence than Trump's home, (joke) yet full of interesting touches. :-)
The Arabian horses are beautiful, and if the tour is when they take them out
and let them swim, all the better!
Anyway, since Hal is not a big fan of Wayne's, we just thought we would put
it out there as an activity possibility, and if any Bulldogs can express
interest to Pearl, we can take it from there.

It's Spring Break, so son David and his two, Kaisei and Takeru, 7 & 9, are
visiting us, and we are having fun!
The weather is beautiful, with new leaves and lots of blossoms welcoming spring.
I ooooh and ahhhh a lot!
There is so much to do in Nevada besides gamble, and we are so close to Arizona,
that day trips are easy.
Adjusting is still going on, and I have had really nice experiences with friendly
peeps, and each time when I assume that the aloha is because they are from home,
they answer "Yes! How did you know?!" I say, "because you are kind and pono!"
It is fun, and the only challenge at this time is Robert adjusting to these drivers,
compared to Honolulu.
No turn or merging signals, tailgating, cutting in, ........ just a bit much, and for the
first time in over 50 years, I have seen his hand signals ofdispleasure. Ha!

Wishing every classmate a wonderful spring and year til we see one another in
Las Vegas in October!

Love,
Brenda Ignacio-Gore

Hope all the emails below answer some of the questions asked by classmates.
Other than that, the official hard copy newsletter with furhter info should be going
out by the end of this month.

The train ride being mentioned, the best train ride in all of Oahu... it's the only one
of course... will likely be a late morning ride.
It's the Hawaii Railway Society train ride located in Ewa... link below.

How much is the 75th Birthday Reunion package... plane fare and hotel and dinner?

March 9, 2017

Got it Pearl, Golden Nugget Hotel for banquet dinner on Sunday 10/15/2017

As Roy mentioned, I dropped in on Doug Yoshimura Savage a few days ago.
He was in very good spirits as we talked about the old days and pretty much everyting else.

Yep Pamela, it'll be Saturday, May 13th for dinner at Natsunoya Tea House.
Glad you'll be in town at about that time to be able to attend... see you there.

No fo'get, Saturday March 25th for the KHSF fundraiser dinner.
Deadline to mail in registration form and payment is this Friday the 10th.
But no worries if no can for whatever reason, they will also accept payment at the door on
the day of the dinner.
It's just a $35 donation amount, more if you wish since part of it is tax-deductible, so it's
more than worthwhile with food, entertaiment, camaraderie, and helping a good cause.
