Thank you Norman, Hal, Carl, & all who were involved in getting us these wonderful DVDs.
I surely appreciate it.
I now listen & reminisce while I am going about the day sewing, cooking, paying bills, etc.
Brings back a lot of memories.
Thank you so much.
It adds to my day.

Yes Gerri and Roger, unfortunately that was our classmate John.
So many who have left us recently.
Also, while on a trip I ran into and got confirmation from her sister that our
classmate Doreen Sakuma (don't know her married name) passed away
20 plus years ago.
Velma, Mae, enjoy your music DVD as I do with much thanks to Norman, Carl,
and all the others involved in distributing the copies.
Thanks Gerri, I did immensely enjoy the 'Asian' trip and food.
On that aforementioned trip, I was fortunate to attend and participate in a fabulous
festival, along with nearly 2,000 other Hawaii residents who were also there.
That festival, the Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival, is held only every 5 years, this
being the 6th such event, with participants of Okinawan heritage coming from
all over thw world... over 8,000 as I understand, celebrating with tens of thousands
more from the local area for several days... awesome experience... think Honolulu's
local Okinawan Festival on steroids.
Our classmate and my calabash cousin, Bobby Matsuda, encouraged me to go on this
trip as he and his wife were planning to do so too.
Unfortunately, they were unable to attend at the last minute but I did run into several
other classmates and old friends.
George Takamiya and his wife Pat (KHS '61) were in the same travel group as were
2 elementary school classmates of mine, Harold Gusukuma, and Roy Kaneshiro
with his wife Carolyn (Watanabe), our H.S. classmate, also along on the trip.
During the several days of festivities I also ran into Bessie Shimabukuro, Kenneth
(Sarge) Matsuura and his wife, Bert Maedo and his wife, and Virginia Kakazu.
While marching down the main street in the opening day parade carrying one of the
many Hawaii group banners, I heard a voice calling my name from somewhere in
the huge crowd lining the sidewalks... turned out to be Virginia.
George Kaneshiro, KHS '59 grad and brother of our late classmate James, was our
travel group leader.
Also sat, unknowingly and ironically for a while, next to my wife's Mom's neighbor,
in a packed 30,000 seat stadium, for the fantastic opening ceremony.
While in the air-conditioned stadium restroom cooling off from the heat and humidity,
my wife ran into someone with a familiar face.
After a few 'do you know...' and a 'how slim a chance', it turned out to be Virginia.
Crazy small world it can be at times.

Aloha, missed you at Romano's Macoroni Grill fun lunch today.
Ron Lee won today's jackpot.
For the record, today Norman's DVD gifts were delivered to Sandy Akiyama,
Carol Hamasaki, Penny Taguchi's husband, & Ruth Kinosita.
Out of my 25 DVDs, I have 10 remaining DVD copies.
Wishing you a fabulous "Asian" (as you corrected me) Holiday and do eat to
your heart's desire.
