Blog is back after a long hiatus.

Judging from the feedback I've seen, heard and received from classmates, the Pearl Country Club 70th
birthday reunion was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed.

Hopefully, everyone that had to has sent in the Unity House form for the Las Vegas reunion package that
is due by May 11th... below is a link to the latest newsletter with that form :
https://docs.google.com/document/******************( EMAIL ME FOR FULL LINK )

For those classmates who were members of the 'Casuals' social club, Richard Shintaku emailed a note of
the passing of one of those 'Casuals'.

I received an email from Pastor Warren Nakano who passed on an update on Douglas Yoshimura.

Edwina, glad you were finally able to go to and enjoy one of our class reunions... wish even more that I
had been able to attend and enjoy this one myself.

Will be posting Carl Yasuda's copy of the Pearl Country Club class reunion group picture on the Pbase
website as soon as is possible and subsequently ID'g where I can... same with the pictures from Arline
Hirahara Gokan or the reunion pictures from any other classmate who'd like to send them to me...
Mahalo to Carl and Arline... much appreciated since I didn't attend and take any pics.

Thanks Chester, and welcome to the blog to Bert and Carolyn.

Paul, happy to hear you and Miki are OK and finally settled in.

Hal

Re: 4/12/12 - H-RR2
Hal, We mourned the sad passing of Roy Hirata, a Kalani grad but member of Kaimuki HS club "Casuals".
Bobby Matsuda gave the eulogy to a really nice Hirata family.

Dear Pastor Nakano:

I am Douglas' cousin.
Cynthia Kinoshita, also my cousin, informed me today that Douglas was taken to Queen's Hospital
emergency on Wednesday and is now in ICU.
I am sure you are aware of this by now.
I spoke with Douglas this morning and he said he is doing fine and wanted to convey the following
message to you and his friends:

Dear Pastor Nakano and friends:
I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful concern for me. My condition is not critical.
I am in ICU because I have a bladder infection, an irregular heartbeat and on a ventilator.
Otherwise I am doing well. I expect to leave the hospital in a few days.
Thank you so much for being my friend and for your prayers which have been a huge blessing to me.
Love, Doug

My family and I, especially my father, would like to thank you, Pastor Nakano, for your visits and being so
kind and helpful to Douglas.
Douglas and Cynthia always tell us what a wonderful Pastor and friend you are to him.
My sister and father met you last year. I look forward to meeting you some day soon.
May the Lord richly bless you and your family.
Much Aloha,
Lisa

Photo with Bert Maedo, Muriel & Pearl, incorrectly titled musicians.
Bert made the ukuleles (2) which were raffled off.
I know that Charlene Mau won one of them, not sure who won the other.

Missed you, Arline

Hal:

Just a big Mahalo to you and all the committee members who worked so hard for us to enjoy this past Sunday
at Pearl Country Club.
I for one sincerely appreciate all your hard work going into this great "bash" - it was so enjoyable and just super
seeing everyone - Frances Takasaki, Sadie Shishido, Karen Morisawa, Francine Song, Muriel, Gerri, just to
name a few, and especially at the end enjoyed short chat w/ Roy and Carl.
Good seeing Clifford Young too - now thats really "hana-batta" days!!!
Much Mahalo to Karen (Fukuji) Yabui for the ride too!!!

Thanks again everyone!!! .
Aloha! Edwina Ahn

This is for those classmates unable to attend this year's luncheon.
My list of classmates are limited unlike Hal's so not everyone will be receiving this photo.
Enjoy and have fun trying to identifying everyone in the picture.
I do have a list of attendees but will leave the identification of those pictured up to Hal.
There were more than a few new faces (about 9) and even after meeting them I would have a hard time trying
to identifying them in the photo.
Also, I think we had a few late arrivals who may have missed the photo session.
Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them.
I am assuming that Hal will post a similar photo and others taken at the luncheon on his web site sometime in
the future for all to see.

Hi All.....As you might know, me and Miki have moved and settled here in Las Vegas since last December.
Had dinner this past Thursday with Kiki and Hal. Kiki gave me both your e-mail address'.
I am hoping that I will continue receiving NEWS and INFORMATION regarding our wonderful class of 1960.
I am unable to attend next weeks Hawaii reunion but, I am intrested in attending the Vegas one come October
........is it still on?
Its been quite an experience making this huge move.
Kiki and Hal were kind enough to help us get both cars from San Diego to Vegas.
Not sure how we would have gotten this done without their help.
Our "stuff" was delivered and the fun began.......we unpacked for months.
Good thing our kids came up to help us out.
We are located in the South West in an area called Caronado Ranch.
In fact our close neighbors are Elsie and Jack.
It is a blessing that we have Elsie and Kiki here.
What a help both have been.
All 6 of us often go out for dinner.
I am happy that Miki has these two great gals to "hang" with.
We have had loads of visitors since moving here.
All of which we love........we see more of our friends here than when we were living at home.
We have a few extra bedrooms.
If you ever need a place to stay............stay with us.
Its not the Royal Hawaiian but its close.
I look forward to your News Letters Hal.
And any information you can share will be appreciated.
Take care.
Look forward to seeing the both of you in October.
Aloha no, Paul Texeira
