Jan and Cora Gordon with instruments, 1920s.

In "Misadventures with a Donkey in Spain" we find "First we had our instruments, a guitar - bought in London at a strange musical-instrument shop in Bloomsbury, a shop of character which you may hunt out for yourself if you will - and the Spanish laud or lute which Jo had bought in Murcia during the previous year."

This photograph is used as a full page illustration in Ken Bryant's 1990 article on the Gordons in "Book and Magazine Collector." Ken had seen the original (now in my possession) at my father's house in Leeds. Rather shamefully the only acknowledgement as to source is "Photo courtesy of K.J. Bryant"!
