Goree Island

This woman owns one of the many small shops catering to tourists on the island. Shop owners ride the ferry from Dakar, somewhat forcefully sitting with other passengers. What starts out as friendly conversation segues into soliciting commitments from tourists to visit their shops. Exasperated tourists often give their "commitment" to provide a little peace during the crossing. However, the shop owners do not forget and dog the tourists on the island until the commitment is fulfilled!
