The cool looking spiky plant in the foreground is Culver's root. Also seen here is some coneflower, and a lot of wild bergamot. The vivid red plant is royal catchfly, which hummingbirds LOVE! One of my favorites. This is all blooming mid summer, but the royal catchfly will keep its color into early fall. I really enjoy sitting out on the patio, watching the hummingbirds and butterflys amid all these beautiful flowers. Makes all the hard work worth it!
