I put this owl shack in a spruce tree, hoping to attract a screech owl to roost in the yard. It's not the ideal location, as it would be preferable to be in a larger tree, but I'm hoping that an owl will find it acceptable. I cleared out some of the branches, since screech owls like a clear flight path to the box. If it doesn't work, I'll have to try yet another location.
