Some of the plants donated by my neighbor the year before, and planted between the deck and patio. They've filled in nicely and really made that area look a lot better. Previously it was just dirt, sparse grass, and weeds. This area faces south so gets a good amount of sun. The red flower is bee balm. It's not the native monarda variety, but the hummingbirds like it. The vast majority of things I've planted have been native species from nurseries that specialize in native plants, but a few other varieties here and there (especially if they attract birds) are fine with me. I like the color here.
