Eagle transport

MSP Airport

This was my second call to pick up a bird at Northwest Air Cargo. It's a bald eagle from Bismarck, ND. I don't know what its injury is, but hopefully will find out soon. Normally all sides of the carrier would be covered up, but on this one, only the front and back were. I was able to peek in and saw that it looked like a young bird, maybe 3 years old. It was laying down in the carrier with its head toward the back. It had its eyes open and was moving around a bit, but didn't make any noise. I took a jacket and shirt in my truck and covered up the sides of the carrier so it wouldn't have so much light shining in. Gave it as quiet and smooth a ride as possible to the Raptor Center on the other side of town.

EDIT: Turns out it was a golden eagle. I didn't get a good look because I was trying not to bother it, and wanted to cover up the sides of the crate as quickly as possible. It had a broken pelvis and some other problems, which meant it couldn't be rehabilitated.
