2008 Wildflower Trips: Table Mountain | Temblor Range | Cottonwood Canyon | Antelope Valley
On Monday, March 24, I headed up to Table Mountain, an old volcanic mesa just north of Oroville, CA. This is known as one of the better wildflower spots in Northern California, and I wanted to check out the progress of the wildflower bloom. The main show here was lupine, which was blooming in large patches around the small creeks that cut through the plateau. There were also many orange poppies along the rock outcroppings, as well as goldfields. Hopefully more flowers will bloom in the coming week.
