The fall colors of the High Sierra are well known to photographers around the state. Up and down US 395 in the Eastern Sierra, there are side roads that lead into the mountains, where large numbers of aspen grow. Photo opportunities abound, with the bright golden aspen groves contrasting with the granite peaks of the Sierra. In 2008, the Bishop Creek Canyon area exhibited some really great color, as well as Rock Creek Canyon and the high meadows near Lee Vining.
