Telescope Peak is the highest point in Death Valley National Park, at 11,049 ft. Scott and Leah suggested that the crew run up to Telescope Peak, then drive to Badwater, the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere, at -282 ft. below sea level. We started our run from the Wildrose Charcoal Kilns - each standing about 25 feet high with a diameter of approximately 30 feet across - which were used to convert pinyon and juniper logs to charcoal for two silver mines located 25 miles away.

Way to go Glenn. You continue to amaze with your photographic prowess. Hey Man, what should I do with a couple of free days in August in the Seattle area? I have been to Cougar Mountain, and I think one of the days will be there. 15-20 miles seems like a good way to spend a day. And what about another place that would be fun to run for the day? I think you and Don told me about Tiger Mountain. Is that a pretty cool place. I really like the "Hobbit Trail" like atmoshpere of Cougar Mountain, so anything like that would br fun. Any ideas you might have would be appreaciated.
And of course, keep up the photos, and I'll see you at Camp Jurek 2006 (hopefully)
