Knowlton or Long Covered Bridge
Off OH26 in park north of Rinard Mills
Monroe County, Ohio
Truss Type - Multiple Kingpost plus arch
35-56-18
192 feet long Built in 1887 (second longest in Ohio)
You are unable to walk across it now. The arch has failed and there is a huge break in the beam underneath. It will probably fall before we see it again.

My father, Eugene, is the oldest grandson of Daniel and Lillie Hill Knowlton. He along with his brothers Edgar and Herb (born to Herbert Ring and Sara Knowlton) were born on this farm. At 90 years old he still talks about shooting turtles in the Little Muskingum from this bridge.

It is great to see this bridge is still standing. My grandparents lived very close to this park and as kids we swam in the creek beside the bridge. I have many good memories in Monroe County and this Bridge and Park are part of them.
