These pictures were taken at Lost Maples State Natural Area, Vanderpool, Texas on November 3, 2006. I think it was a little less colorful this year than last, though perhaps I was just a bit early for the peak colors. This year I hiked out-and-back a bit on the southern arm of the west loop, then did the east loop in clockwise direction, opposite from the last two years. It's no easier climbing the big hill going that direction though.
