I went back to Enchanted Rock on May 22. My goals were to go there when the prickly pear cactii were blooming, and before it got too hot. Well, I got it half right. The cactii were blooming but the temperature that day hit 97 in Austin, and was probably a couple degrees warmer than that at Enchanted Rock.
