I took this collection of photos during a trip in September, 2003. The highlights of the trip included a hike up to Angel's landing (not for the timid!) for spectacular views of the valley and a walk up the Virgin Narrows. September is a great time for the Virgin Narrows walk/wade because the river is low, the risk of flash floods is greatly reduced and the water is still fairly warm. The best light there is found in the mid-afternoon. Another highly recommended short walk is the canyon overlook trail. The trailhead is found at the east entrance of the Hwy 9 tunnel. Beautiful slick rock formations can be found all along the trail until you reach the magnificent overlook of the valley at the trails end.
