The Kachina Wetlands are a man made, water reclamation project for the community of Kachina Village just south of Flagstaff, AZ. There are several ponds in the area, but most are drained. When I visited there was one large pond and a smaller, shallower one that attracted some small shore birds. It is bordered by a coniferous forest that attracts woodpeckers, jays, grosbeaks and many other hardwood birds.
