The images here are the result of a weekend trip to Lake Superior in early April, 2006. The transition from winter to spring is in full force at this time and tourism is at a lull. Lack of snow combined with bare trees tends to make for a rather bleak landscape when compared to other times of the year. What most people tend to forget, however, is that this is a prime time for waterfall viewing. Swollen rivers carrying runnoff from winter's lake effect snowfalls are at their peak capacity. These waterfalls were the main focus of my trip. The fact that I was able to view them in almost complete solitude was icing on the cake!
