This gallery is a collection of images enhanced with the aid of Photoshop. You'll find various types of digitally created motion blurs, scenes with added elements, selective coloring, and (most commonly) images altered via Orton Effect treatments.

The Orton Effect was dreamed up by photographer Michael Orton (go figure) back in the film days. It was the merging of two exposures of the identical scene with the first image in sharp focus and overexposed by ~2 stops. The second would then be recorded out of focus and overexposed by ~1 stop. The resulting image would have a dreamy, diffused glow to it. With the advent of Photoshop (and other post processing tools), this treatment can now be simulated when applied to a single image.
