Day 268 - Fall Colors Inbound
(999/365)
It is hard to actually "feel fall" right now as it has been so hot. It was in the mid 80's today. I had to get all my outside work done today since my wife & I will be riding with some others up Mount Washington tomorrow (provided there is no snow up there).
It will be a very nice ride. We are going up through Maine, will ride through Evan's Notch, my first time this year (did it three times last year). Should have some beautiful colors up there. It will also be much cooler, a high in the mid 60's so we shall see a 20 degree temperature drop in one day. I'm glad for this, it makes for a comfortable ATGATT ride.
So anyway, we have one maple in the back yard that is beginning to turn red, there is another turning, but it turns yellow.

Day 267 - Good Times
(998/365)
This shot was taken during half-time after the band was leaving the field. It could very well have taken place after the game of the century for Marshwood. A High School Football game that pretty much rivaled an NFL game. In the last few minutes Marshwood went from winning, to giving up a field goal and trailing, then another Marshwood fumble to what we all thought was to end the game. Kennebunk was just running out the clock, but they fumbled at the 50 yard line. Marshwood's first play was a "Pass and a Randy Moss Catch" as the receiver, in stride, one-handed it and got a first down plus. With 6.5 seconds left, Marshwood opted for a Field goal to put them ahead. The team was so exicited, they cleared the field to celebrate, leaving a trail of yellow flags in their wake. With only one play, Kennebunk attempted a pass to an open receiver, in the end zone, and dropped the ball.
What a Friday night!
OK, now I have to go see what our kitten just knocked over. . .

Day 266 - KC Again
(997/365)
Busy day today. I meant to bring the camera with me to work, but forgot. I found something "Photo Worthy" too, an "Escape Pod" on the back of a motorhome (caught it with the iPhone).
I am working on fixing the Home Depot French Door screwup, getting a quote on Pella French Doors. I have to admit that my first impressions of Pella are not good, I've been dealing with Home Depot and other vendors for Special Order doors and am used to getting a quote in a matter of minutes/seconds, all done on the computer, right in front of me. At the Pella showroom, I was interviewed, everything was handwritten (a little archaic) and then I had to ask when/where the quote was. I was told it would take a couple of days. For one French Door, no real custom stuff too. If it takes a couple of days, it's gotta be expensive.
Oh yeah, here's KC. She was in her bookcase upstairs, just pulled away from eating some food, it was the best shot of the bunch since she really wanted to eat.

Day 265 - Plans
(996/365)
Second night in a row I have spent an inordinate amount of time at The Home Depot learning about what else they have screwed up about our order. When you consider that we ordered a Front door, a Storm Door, and a set of French doors and that they screwed up the Front Door and the French Door (twice), you realize that the "we can help" part of their motto isn't really all that true. I definately agree with the "You can do it" part, in fact, you have to pretty much do it all since they don't appear to listen to you when you give them your door measurements.
This photo is of a few pages to the plans to our new deck and porch. With the exception of the French Doors, this project is a "Home Depot Free" zone.

Day 264 - Rollei
(995/365)
Or can also be titled "what to shoot when you just got back from a 3 hour stint at The Home Depot, trying to fix your door order". I wasn't nearly as tired as I am now after researching our options after we realized the new guy at The Home Depot ordered the wrong doors. Luckily we have plenty of time to fix the problem.
I haven't used any of my Medium Format cameras in a long, long time. I really like this Rollei too, it's a 2.8, something I searched long and hard for years back. I might still have film in it too (better check on that).

Day 263 - Red
(994/365)
Wow am I tired this evening. I didn't sleep well last night, no idea why. Was just shooting random things this evening, decided to mess with the saturation a bit, desat all but red here, then a little touch up here and there.

Day 262 - Trail Time
(993/365)
This is the North Side of the trail I remembered from High School. Once I made it down the road a bit, it became apparent that the South side of the trail (power lines) wasn't in use any more as there is a now a golf course there.
It's also amazing how things are a tad bit different than I remember. I never road the trails on a dirtbike in Somersworth, only on a snowmobile, things like swamps aren't all that much of a problem in the winter ;-)

Day 261 - Aggie - Cedar Trail
(992/365)
This was a bit of a technical trail for me (my first time), this part was easy, but just beyond the ridge aways was a very rocky climb up that became a drop down on the way back.

Day 260 - Musical
(991/365)
I should have been taking a photo of the back of my camera, though a photo won't really tell the whole story. My wife spilled wine onto the back of my 40D. I tried to clean it all up but the back still smells like wine (which is pretty gross).
My son got his Alto Saxaphone this evening. He went from super happy, pinging off the wall to get his instrument to droned out in front of the TV after his sisters talked him out of playing it tonight.
After taking this shot of my oldest playing her flute, I tested her ability to focus on her playing by balancing various pieces of fruit and other kitchen obects on a cane slightly above and in front of her flute. She didn't do very well with focusing.

Day 259 - Balance
(990/365)
I used to have a vanity plate on my Beemer called "Balance". I let it lapse after selling it (before I bought my Harley) and lost it (someone else in Maine stole it). Been testing it out online ever since (I even contacted the DMV to make sure it wasn't blocked out to me and in some odd one year holding pattern deal, it wasn't).

Day 258 - Wife Shot
(989/365)
I left work early (for me) to rush home to meet a contractor that never showed (so he's not going to make it on the short list). My wife was reading (she always reads) and I was antsy for my PaD shot. This came out pretty good, I'm sure she will approve.

Day 257 - Jedi Training
(988/365)
In an effort to get KC to do something this evening, my oldest breaks out the Light Sabre, something that KC usually goes ballastic over. I'm thinking that she is starting to get bored of the camera, the kids have worn off on her.
