Day 4 - Out Of Place
(735/365)
The first day of my non-riding winter season. I got out at lunch today for a trip to Best Buy (Returned something and looked at the 7D which goes on 'sale' in 4 days) and then set out for a photo. After walking around the front of the sub, I realized I should have brought my winter boots to work, my LL Bean low-tops do a great job of collecting snow, not so good at reflecting it. Anyway, this is the USS Albacore, permanently on display in Portsmouth, NH. Its a cool little tour, I've done it with the kids before, just a little short (nothing like Battleship cove in Fall River, Mass). I couldn't believe that the site was open AND there were a bunch of cars in the parking lot. While I was taking photos of the front, I watched a family enter it. I imagine it is pretty cold on that thing, I doubt there is any heat. At first I was pissed at the angle with the power lines in the back, but I kind of like the unnatural feel to it now. Not something you'd normally expect to see.

Day 3 [734] - Something Red
(734/365)
When I saw that today's FGR was another "
Red Theme", I had wanted to get an Ultra Wide shot of a Target Store, but blew my chance when I left for the dump this morning in haste, leaving my camera at home. After the dump run, I had to go to The Home Depot which is right next store to Target. Scratch that oppurtunity. The rest of the day, save for fixing a leaky shower head, was spent watching bits and pieces of the Patriots-Houston game on the DVR. Good thing I DVR all the Pats games now, otherwise I would have wasted the entire afternoon for nothing as they blew yet another Fourth Quarter lead. These are not your normal Twizzlers, my daughter got them for me for Xmas, they came in a big plastic container and are individually wrapped. I think she was thinking this might slow down my Twizzler addiction, it has, but I am still motiviated to eat them.

Day 2 [733] - Coming Back Down
My son had a much better time at the skateboard park this week. This section he is on was too scarey last week, today, once he worked up the nerve to try it, he wouldn't come off the thing. It is like a 'V' with a gradual bottom, it's not a half-pipe, but it is close. In this shot, he'd already reached the apex and was working his way back down. He would start from the other side to the left, out of this frame. He started working on turning on the second time up the side later on. I think he will do much better later by spending a lot of time working on the basics, he's got his balance down pretty good.

Day 1 [732] - Into the Light
We did our annual Shopping trip today. Went up to LL Bean & The Maine Mall. There is a new parking garage at Bean (actually across the street). For years we used to park right around this arrow, but in a traditional parking lot. I brought the camera gear with me, kept it in the trunk. We had just come back from Bean and I noticed this arrow and wanted to get a shot, the people walking away are a bonus. Actually, if it wasn't for the people walking away, this shot would have been deleted. Not sure I could have planned a shot any better than this today.

Day 153 - Apple Care
(884/365)
I got my MacBook Pro back from the Apple Store today. Turns out a Logic board costs a little over $1300 to replace. I don't have Apple Care either. nVidia has acknowledged a problem with their chip and paid for the cost of replacing the Logic Board. It was a pretty smooth transaction, it sucked that I lost the laptop for 1/2 the week, but I was very impressed with Apple. Not many places would be open on Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, providing service with a smile.

Day 245 - Roughing It
(977/365)
My daughter on her MacBook in the wilderness (ok a camping Resort with WIFI).
She is wearing designer glasses (I think this is what they are called). She doesn't have prescription glasses and I am pretty sure these aren't magnified. She got them because they are purple.

Day 340 - Kicking Back
(1071/365)
I kind of thought I would kick back, watch the game, and do a little work on the MBP. I did kick back, I had the MBP on my lap, but never opened it until now.
One hell of a game, 45 - 3 Pats. Pats are back atop the Division now. Still a lot of football left this season.
