Day 148 - Unclear
(879/365)
We were sitting on this dock fishing in the evening when I noticed this scene. I took it OOF on purpose. If this photo is rotated 90 degrees to the right, it looks like the silhouette of a person.

Day 147 - Tranquil
(878/365)
Catching up (MacBook Pro died over weekend, it's back now). Taken in front of our campsite for memorial day weekend. Evening shot, low light, had just finished setting up and realized I'd needed to take a photo.

Day 146 - Exploring Trails
(877/365)
A few days back I got stuck behind a slow driver on my "Pre Memorial Day" Back roads commute. I was forced to slow down and started looking around, I noticed this trail that veered off to the right so I did a 180 and tested it out. I actually had my Kodak Playsport helmet cam on at the time too. I didn't go very far, just enough to see that it was very doable on the Strom. I checked Google Maps and it actually appeared as an unnamed dirt road (though it's not a road and it's not dirt). There was a river crossing that showed up on the maps so I figured I'd check it out. Turns out there is this old wooden bridge. I checked it out, there are 4 tree trunks beneath the rotting boards that felt pretty solid. I'm actually on the other side of the bridge in this photo, on my return trip back. I had a little bit of fun, I didn't follow the trail to the end, its rutted and grown in, I was worried that it might either end or become unpassable at a point where I couldn't turn the "Litre Class Bike" around. A couple hundred yards down from the bridge is a clearing that I was able to turn around in. The trail got much steeper a little further on.

Day 145 - Oh Grate
(876/365)
It's actually the cover for the fan in the downstairs. It's hot in here this evening.

Day 144 - Eye on you
(875/365)
Some kind of snake-lizard toy on the couch. I'm not sure if this is the original coloring, I shot it with BW preset (RAW) and then started tweaking the color in LR.

Day 143 - Tripod
(874/365)
No way I'm using this little guy for my 40D. I think I got this little tripod with the carrying case I got for my LX3. I gave it to one of the kids and it somehow wound up kicking around the kitchen again. I might swipe it for the bike, I have one of those flexible gorilla pods, but don't use it enough.

Day 142 - Feather
(873/365)
Just a feather that has literally been hanging around the house for some time (evident by the cobwebs).

Day 141 - A Slice
(872/365)
Looking for an interesting shot this evening, I spied my wife lounging around so I borrowed part of her for this shot. I am really focusing most of my photos around the 100mm Macro (Pun intended).

Day 140 - The Rat
(871/365)
There is no way I could get a photo of the girls' hamster on my own, it was pretty tough with my oldest holding it too. Of all the photos I took, this is the only one that is remotely in focus. It didn't help that I was using my 100mm Macro at f/2.8 which has a DOF of about a mm. This little thing really moves too, I should have set the AF to AI Servo, hindsight I guess.

Day 139 - GT
(870/365)
My youngest daughter is in a Gifted & Talented program at school. She is always working on some kind of additional project that requires some form of building tasks. This is part of her greenhouse that she constructed this evening. It is pretty much fully functional, I told her she should put 1/2 an egg carton in it with some dirt and tomato seeds. She actually considered it for a little while too. I might have to introduce her to my balsa supply and make an airplane or two.

Day 138 - Double Duty
(869/365)
I had to move the Maine Tag again today, after grabbing it this morning. There were some golfers on the hole behind the bush there (I'm assuming the 18th hole) when I pulled up, they gave me the evil eye at first. They would have laughed if they'd seen my bike with my golf bag strapped to the back. Oh yeah, I've added a comfort item to the bike today, check out that big honkin' CrampBuster on the throttle. I've never owned one before, after yesterday's 220+ mile commute though, I decided I needed to get one (along with a Vista Throttle lock, but that will take a little time to install).

Day 137 - Early Morning Trip
(868/365)
I started thinking about hitting the Kangamangus Highway for a morning commute last week, I'd only run the trip numbers a couple of times and decided to save this idea for a day that my wife planned to stay home so I didn't have the morning duty. Before I could even ask her when her next morning would be, she told me that she was taking our son on a field trip on Monday morning. Bingo! All I had to do was get up at 4am, get on the road by 4:45-5:00 and ride for 4 hours. I got on the road at 4:45, the exif says this photo was taken at 6:35 AM, which means I'd been riding for just under 2 hours (the 1/2 way mileage point was still another 30 or so miles away). It was 39F when I left and it only got colder as I made it to the mountains. I had my electric liner pretty much near full, overpowering the Strom's mediocre wattage. I arrived at work just before 9am, 4 hours and 220.6 miles later. I made three stops, this one, a gas stop, and a stop at McDonald's for an Egg McMuffin as I was starving towards the end. I'm not sure how I will top this commute!
I worked a little over 10 hours today, then took an hour long ride home.
