I think that I've seen this age before.... not sure. The limited streaking of the upper breast, pinkish legs, and faint eyering draws me towards Vesper Sparrow. But, the nape has me doubting that call. I've seen Chipping Sparrows with the limited upper breast streaks before. They have pinkish legs and faint eyering. This bird seems to have a darker streak through the eye, a split crown, and somewhat limited lighter area above the eye. The Chipping Sparrow seems to have a more clear nape than the Vesper. The whitish area above the eye appears to be anterior, and on Vesper it would be adjacent to the bill, forward of the eye. Vesper seems to have a larger bill and less steep forhead than the bird in the photo shows. Brewer's Sparrow has similarities. But I'll go with CHIPPING SPARROW.

OK, no NA field guide handy, but this bird makes me think of Clay-colored Sparrow.

I'll bite, the highly restricted breast streaking, bold fanned out lateral throat stripe (malar), complete eyering and dark marking framing the auriculars all point to Vesper Sparrow. At first I wondered if it wasn't some really weird Savannah Sparrow, but there is no plumage of Savannah that shows so little streaking below.
