Castle Howard is a stately home in North Yorkshire that is 15 miles north of York. It was built between 1699 and 1712 and has been the home of the Howard family for over 300 years. However it is not a castle but a country house and wasnt designed for any military function.
From the entrance building one is led into a the Stable Courtyard that contains a Farm Shop, Courtyard Cafe, Carriage House and a Chocolate and Flower shop. Next is the Ticket Office. We opted for a tour of the Gardens and grounds as it was far too hot to go into the house.
Once through the Ticket Office we headed towards an open garden gate and the tour of the gardens begun. There are great views of the house, atlas fountain, south lake and boar garden to mention a few of the treasured memories of Castle Howard and Gardens. I hope you enjoy the tour...

Excellent gallery. I visited last summer (2010) and this brings back memories. You need at the very least an entire day to absorb all that is there.

C'est une magnifique série de photos. Ce château et ses jardins sont de toute beauté. Le post-traitement est excellent car il renforce les couleurs et les détails. Les cadrages sont aussi fort bien pensés. C'est excellent et j'ai beaucoup aimé vos images.
