Hurricane Rita

In the area surrounding New Orleans Rita brought tropical storm winds and lots of water. The repairs to the levees that followed the Katrina disaster failed and flooded much of New Orleans again. Additionally the winds came from the south and east and flooded some areas that had not flooded before. Heavy rains fell, causing street flooding. Roofs that were temporarily repaired after Katrina couldn't hold up to the new winds and the tarps covering some blew away, allowing the interiors of some homes to sustain additional water damage. Here's a few photos from a quick drive on the day after Rita.
