I believe that the Cooper's is a young female. She is noticably larger than an adult male that comes around to the yard occasionally. Bye the way Bosque was really good last week, great light and cooperative birds. Sorry you weren't there.

I am a native of Louisiana who left the state in 1985. In many ways your photos "take me home" as I travel nationwide. Many times, after reading your descriptions, I can almost "smell" the surroundings like the crawfish boil or the morning fog. I find it ironic that another photographer in your area post many of the same subjects but from a different angle, time of day or perspective. Your photos make it tough to glance over your albums.
They are all so good. Can usually spend a couple minutes
browsing thumbnails and pick a few to view. Your gallery
wouldn't release me till I viewed over a hundred of your
beautiful contributions. All my digital pics are relatively
low resolution, quick shots with my little Canon Elura camcorder.
You might have inspired me to accelerate purchase of a DRebel
and try to make time for more shooting trips.
Work in my lab consumes nearly all my time, miss the days when
I actually spent the time to compose my shots.

EF 400mm f/2.8L mostly sometimes the 300 2.8 when I'm going to walk a long way.
I use both the extenders with them. Sorry I put this on a lot of posts I forgot today.
Looks like most of my birds in Mn. have left anyway. In a few weeks I will have to look for other interests. I really do love the birds best though. Thanks for stopping by and bird looking. I enjoy your comments.

The red glad in your aunt's garden looks like our Atom, which is wonderful. You can compare it with our photo at www.oldhousegardens.com (glads are in our Spring-Planted Bulbs section). Thank you Gayle for you comments about my "Movie Gallery". They had a great time participating! When we went to see the actual movie (got to go to free screening), we were disappointed in a way...LoL. Worked really long hours and hard for a few minutes. But still, the experience was great.
Your galleries are awesome. So many flowers, i like the covered bridges and yummy mulberries (my mom has a huge on in her yard) can get sick eating them by the 100s..LoL

Those are wonderful photos!! I've used my manual Nikon FM2 with Kodachrome 64 slide film for years, but I am seriously considering going digital with a Canon G5. Please tell me if your photo "the Third Iris" came out of the camera that way, or did you have to work it in your "Photoshop Program"? If so, for how long.

Thanks for the comment on my zoo (bird) photo. It's a small zoo and the glass cage was dirty, but it is one of my favorites also.

I like your covered bridge and cabin.
