Marabá is the principal town of SE Pará, deep in Brazil’s Amazon basin. It is situated by an important bridge over the Tocantins River. In addition to a highway, this bridge carries the railway line which connects the Carajás iron ore district with the port of São Luís.

I had an afternoon to spend there. The weather was not cooperative, but between showers I took pictures of odds and ends.
