Unfortunately my race was cancelled in last weekend's H.O.T. Regatta due to bad weather conditions. However, it was a real treat to view the pics you were able to get - they are AMAZING and really captured the lure of the sport.

A friend, who was in last week's regata, sent me a link to your photos. Beautiful! Do you do wedding photography too? Please let me know! Stephanie (ultramodulation@yahoo.com)

Funny. I am from Texas, and wish I were from Scotland. :) Anyway, your photos are phenomenal. Your "best shots" gallery...wow...I am literally at a loss for words. You have quite the talent there.
Guest 23-Aug-2004 10:45
Hi Gordon

How much would you charge to use one of your shots? I have an advertising agency in Cumbria The lake District in the UK and we're doing a gardens guide. I need a pic for the cover and your butterfly pics would really suit. I also have a girlfriend in nachodoges Texas too, strangely....

Let me know....we could do business.....

Hi Gordon, My sister, Melissa Tipton, directed me to your website. Your photos
are fantastic and you have an absolutely wonderful eye!
Danny Barton 24-Aug-2003 14:29
I've been a member of Pbase a little over a year. It is rare for me to spend as much time in one artist's galleries as I have in yours. You call yourself a beginner. I don't think that has much to do with natural talent. I've made you the third entry in my favorite artists list. Keep those wonderful images coming!

Wow. I intended to be a photographer, but you ARE a photographer. Great photos in all areas. You have the gift. Keep up the good work.
Cynthia (again!) 09-Apr-2003 04:40
Gordon, may I ask...what do you guys do for a living that allows you the time to take such fascinating trips? I am just curious! -Cynthia P.S. I'm STILL on your site looking at your pictures! I'm hooked.

Hi Gordon, I was surfing the web for Cozumel beach bars, since my husband and I will be there next month for a day stop during our cruise. I stumbled across your website. What eye-catching photos! I found myself looking at all of them. They are magnificent. I thought you were a professional photographer or something! What kind of camera are you using? Is it digital? We have a Digital Sony Mavica which we love, but our pictures aren't as clear and sharp and colorful as yours. My hubby and I married in New Orleans 3 years ago (at The Saint Louis Hotel...right there in the courtyard), and we have been to Mexico several times (Playa del Carmen, Cozumel, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta). You and your wife remind me of my and my hubby, because we LOVE to travel! Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos with us. Where is your next trip? -Cynthia (from Dallas, TX)

Hi, Gordon:
I really love your work.
As an 1.5 year-old Austinite, those pictures of Austin are my favorite.
Your wedding looks very wonderful and mame box is very interesting to me.
Those images are awesome!!!
Happy new year and best wishes!

If you're just learning I can't wait to see what you do after you get more experience. Most of my learning stuff was trashed a long time ago. Looks like you're a natural.

Gordon,

I was just traipsing around your gallery to dig up pictures from our Banff trip and I am amazed by the collection that I found. When Amanda had mentioned that you've won some photography competitions, I didn't know that you had taken your photos that far. They are truly insightful and well done. Though I know where most of the shots were taken, I would never imagine that they would render a such picture-postcard image from your camera. I know some graphic artists that would love to have your collection. You should set aside another gallery for the images that have one awards.

C'est tres bien fait! J'attends les prochaines avec plaisir.

Hi Gordon,
Wanted to say I really like your work, i live in New Orleans and the honeymoon photos were a great representation of our city. Keep up the good work.

I'm learning also, your pix are really good.
Steve Martin 12-Sep-2002 02:48
Hey Guys... enjoyed your shots of Playa. I'vw been to Isla Mujeras a couple of times, so I'm familiar with the area, I assume you were at Tulum? Also appreciated your pics of New Orleans... I live near the city, wonderful place, eh? Your photographic skills are pretty well honed.

cheers!

Alright Gordon,

stumbled across your site here by accident. Great photos, especially the abstract section - love the macro shots. Congrats on getting married, your wife looks beautiful. Are you living in the States now? I'm in San Diego, married to Catriona, with a 14 mth old daughter called Daisy. Hope life is treating you well...

Just found a link here from a thread on dpchallange. You've improved my skills in a very short time! Thanks!!!

Your site provides very useful information for G2 users like me. Thanks. From your experience, do you think inkjet printing is as good as commercial printing services such as ofoto.com?
Duncan 08-Jun-2002 15:42
There is some super info stored away on this site. I'm going to really enjoy reading my way through it :)

G2's are a bit like women - once you have one you just can't stop buying expensive accessories for it and it can really make you smile on the good days (and cry on the bad) ;)

Wow Gordon, I'm impressed with your site. I can't wait to check everything out when I have a little more time.

I have just bought my G2 and I am very pleased with it. I know that there is a lot of interest and forums about the G2, which I have been searching for.

Your website looks a very useful site which I gather is in the process of being developed. I use photoshop to manipulate my images, but am not very experienced so any help is very welcome.

I am looking forward to future developments

Hi Gordon,
Your photos are fantastic! I am just getting used to my new digital camera. My shots are no where near as good as yours but they are serving as a good way to capture my experiences here in Malaysia.
I will put my shots on the web soon for you to see.
Shelley.

Gordon,

Thank you for pointing me to your website for it's Workflow information. It is just what I've been looking for since I got my G2 a couple of days ago. I especially appreciate all the detail you have gone into regarding even the commands to use even in PS.

Although I haven't yet taken the time to look at your photos, I am sure they are good from the other comments left here. (I will look at them and comment later)

Again, thank you for pointing me in the right direction on Workflow. It is actually more than what I was looking for......

An appreciative new digital photographer....

I've been shooting 35mm (mostly portraits) for 30 yrs. I just (finally) bought a G2 and will be setting up a digital darkroom. I've been looking for tutorials, anything to use to get up to speed on digital. Your website is exactly what I've been looking for. So far I have Photoshop 5.0 LE that came with the camera (and MS Picture it). Will most of the Photoshop tips you give apply also to the 5.0 LE? I want to get good before I have to explain to my wife why I'm spending more on the full version.

Thanks again.
Guest 25-Mar-2002 03:38
Gordon, I enjoyed so many of your photos and have left some comments. I particularly like your use of special editing effects, such as high contrast and inverted, where it really helps the photo, not distracts from it. Thanks also for your contributions on the Canon forum, and for coming up with an inspiring Challenge #6 - the first in which I'm participating. I'm looking at the world anew these days ...
Richard 20-Mar-2002 07:44
Had a pub discussion with a mate a while ago about the merits of digital photography. As a photo-enthusiast/dabbling paparazzi, he remained staunchly hostile to the concept, instead boasting the indisputable superiority of the old method. Now, I know nothing about either, so the argument ended there. (unusual, as where a point of principle is concerned, these things often go on for hours)

The techy section of your site looks like something of an authroity, Gordon - so I'll suggest he check it out. And he'll have to admit he's wrong.

Great pics too - jealous of all the skiing, however.

Hola Gordon! You've done a fantastic job on this site, full of informative guides, great techniques and a great gallery.

Hugely helpful and beyond inspirational.

Wonderful of you to do so much work for the rest of us. I really apprecieated the printer comparison. I'm a diehard HP fan (HP960), but you must really have something there with the Epson.

Hi Gordon! I found several links to your website on dpreview forums. Great job on the website! Very informative. Thanks for all the free stuff, especially the actions. I really like your contrast mask action, and have been using it a lot.

I've had my G2 for about 3 weeks now, and I think I'll venture into B&W. Thanks for all the info in your B&W workflow!

Hi Gordon,

Recently i have started taking interest in digital photography. Iam learning basics of photography and researching to invest in a good camera. G2 is at the top of my list (if not the only choice). Your work has not only inspired me towards photography but has also strengthen my decision to go for G2. Thanks a lot for all the work and energy you have put into making your pictures available online.
Clifton Bazar 27-Feb-2002 12:40
Yeow! Your photos are HOT Gordon! After seeing some of your images, I feel like I am just playing around with my G2. You have inspired me!

Hello there! I just got myself a G2 and I am still learning digital photography and PS techniques. Your site has inspired and taught me but I am hungry to know more. I hope your site can be a good point of reference for newbies like myself.

Peace!

Hello Gordon,

I bought my G2 last week and today I've been shooting a lot of outdoor photo's. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to make them look even better using Photoshop. So I'm very happy to see you've done a lot of research on that subject already. It's going to be of great help to me (and others). Your photo's are great! Keep on the good work!!

Cheers!
