I'm familiar with the E-variant, but I didn't know the '6' designation was a 4-seater. Good to know.

The E designator indicates it’s an electronic warfare bird. This particular aircraft is a USMC Jammer. Its role is to Jam enemy acquisition radars thus hiding the strike package containing an assortment of air to air & air to ground combat aircraft. It replaced the USAF EF-111. While I was there I photographed the last active operational USAF EF-111 flight ever! All EA-6 variants have 4 seats. The two crew members in the back are electronic warfare officers, up front are the pilot & copilot. Remember the ski lift that was severed in Italy in the mid 1990”s by a U.S. military aircraft? That was a Marine crew flying this same model aircraft.
