Warsaw - the capital and largest city of Poland
Warsaw was the first city conquered by the German army in September 1939.
Warsaw Ghetto (0ctober 12, 1940 –May 16, 1943) was the largest
ghetto and at its peak it contained 450,000 Jews in 3.5 square km.
The Warsaw Ghetto Rebellion (April 19, 1943- May 16, 1943) was the most significant
resistance of Jews against the Nazis in the Holocaust, and as such is considered a symbol of Jewish
resistance and heroism during the Holocaust.
