Was out photographing birds at a conservation area and spotted this little guy peeking out from behind some rocks. I made some noise which seemed to pique its curiosity and drew it further out in the open. Then I slipped a bit on a steep incline (combo of wet plants and smooth soled running shoes) and scared the living daylights out of both myself AND this cute little critter. I could hear it skit-daddle out of there pronto. It was kind of funny when I thought about it afterwards.
And the racoon was the highlight of the afternoons shoot, close-up Great Blue Heron encounter notwithstanding.
