I had not seen this hawk for a few days since the beginning of the week. Then while driving in the area today it suddenly drifted over my car and landed on a wood post. Good to know that it is still around and tame as ever.
There is a female Cardinal http://www.pbase.com/golfpic/image/64277008) just to the top right of this frame. It kept sounding the alert to the hawk's position. After 15 minutes of this constant noise the hawk decided he'd had enough of the Cardinal and flew to one of its favourite perch right across the road (where I and another photographer first photographed it last weekend). Initially it was hard to pick out the hawk because it blended into the branches of the tree. Eventually it "hopped" out into the open as captured in this image.
