Standing under this guy I had to watch out for flying wood chips. First they peck away. Then they get rid of the chips. Then they peck away again. Gid rid of some more chips. Between the pecking and clearing of chips they also look up at the sky around them watching and listening for signs of danger. Aperture-Priority, f/8, 1/160, EC -1/3, ISO 400.
