The Aspy Fault is a 45 km long escarpment fault and is quite a sight to behold, certainly my favourite lookout along the Cabot Trail. The fault-line itself follows the Aspy river running along the bottom of the valley. The softer sedimentary rocks in the valley eroded over time and now form the beaches and spits of Aspy Bay.
