I have been watching a family of Northern Flickers since early May. Actually I was so busy watching other birds I did not get a chance to visit the Flickers much. I know when they started nesting, so calculated the time they would fledge and it was right on schedule. I returned just in time to watch them for the last week or so. I was also there the day before they fledged.
The nest was quite low so offered great close-up views. Took some high definition videos as well. The nest location itself was well hidden so I saw no one else around although I could see people walking by all the time. What can I say, it was a great location the birds chose.
