This is a documentary shot as the jay was but a speck in the photo. I had seen this gray jay earlier just down the road from the hawk owl. Saw it again when it came by to say hello to the hawk owl. The jay perched in the same tree as the owl. Just before this, the hawk owl chased after another bird....it may have been the gray jay or a hairy woodpecker.
