KGSA President Joe Smith and his wife flew to Greece where they were the guests of the Hellenic Air Force and took a commenorative flight on 11 Nov 2006 aboard a Gypsy C-47 still flying with Hellenic Air Force. Themis Varanas, a very history minded teacher of special Greek Children and a devoted Gypsy friend, interpreter and historian made the arrangements and gave the Smiths royal treatment while in Greece. Afterwords, the Smiths went on a Greek Island cruise in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Joe is a retired USAF M/Sgt and past-president of the KGSA.
