Some nations have Eagle in their seal, French chose Rooster. Works too. This monument honors
French fallen in WWI. Among them were drafted Tahitians, who served in French Army despite heavy
and bloody independence fight of Tahitians against the French. This is one of these difficult
historic events, which we tourists should better leave to the Tahitians and the French to work out.
